The 2025 450 series gets more range and a new list of features.

Ather has unveiled the 2025 edition of the new 450X series. The new range gets more of an update, rather than an upgrade. Price for the base 2025 Ather 450S is now ₹1.30 lakh, whereas the 450X series now retails at ₹1.47 lakh for the 2.9 kWh variant and ₹1.76 lakh for the 3.7 kWh variant. The top-spec Ather 450 Apex will lighten your wallet by ₹2 lakh (all prices mentioned are ex-showroom, Bengaluru).

So what are the updates on the new Ather 450X series and the most vital one is the inclusion of a traction control system. Yes, we had seen this on the Ather Rizta, but on the 450X it’s available in three levels - Rain, Road and Rally. The EV brand has introduced a new MRF Zapper N e-tred tyre on its electric scooter which it claims has improved efficiency by as much as 14 %. Owing to which, the range of the 2025 Ather 450X 2.9 kWh has gone up from 85 to 110 km and that of the 450X 3.7 kWh has risen from 105 to 130 km, which is very impressive. The company also added that due to the increase in range, riders can now enjoy Warp mode for longer duration.

Ather claims a 0-80% charging time of 3 hours for the 450X 2.9 kWh variant and 4 hours 30 mins for the larger 3.7 kWh battery pack. Magic Twist, Ather’s take on regeneration has also made its way on the 450 series from the Ather Apex. There have been no updates made on the hardware front and the motor remains the same. The 450S is powered by a 5.4 kW motor and has a 0-40 kmph acceleration timing of 3.9 seconds. The 450X packs a 6.4 kW motor and accelerates from 0-40 kmph in 3.3 seconds, both the 450 scooters have a top speed of 90 kmph.

Standard vehicle warranty on the 2025 Ather 450 series remains 3 years/30,000 km, while battery warranty can be extended to 8 years. The 2025 Ather 450 electric scooter will compete against the Bajaj Chetak, TVS iQube and the Ola S1 series.
