Maruti Suzuki Cars to Become Dearer by Up to ₹20,000

India's leading car manufacturer, Maruti Suzuki, has announced a fresh price revision across select passenger vehicles starting this month, making several models more expensive for buyers. This latest upward adjustment marks the company's third price increase during the current calendar year, with rates going up by as much as ₹20,000 depending on the model.

While the manufacturer has not yet released a detailed variant-wise breakdown of the revised pricing, updated rate sheets across dealerships and showroom networks are expected to clarify individual cost changes shortly.

Explaining the rationale behind the price hike, Maruti Suzuki cited persistent inflation and escalating raw material costs. Over the past few months, the automobile manufacturer implemented various internal cost-optimisation strategies to absorb the financial burden.

However, sustained pressure within the overall operating environment ultimately forced the company to pass on a portion of these rising expenses to retail consumers. The decision comes at a critical juncture for the domestic automotive sector, as carmakers gear up for increased showroom footfall and heightened customer demand during the upcoming festive period.

This latest price adjustment follows two previous revisions carried out earlier in 2026. The initial increase occurred in June, when prices rose by up to ₹30,000 across the brand's passenger vehicle portfolio. A second selective hike followed in August, which saw the Baleno (pre-facelift) become dearer by up to ₹30,000, the e Vitara increase by up to ₹20,000, and the entry-level Alto K10 receive a modest bump of ₹2,500.
