The new Hero Xtreme 250R will also mark the brand’s debut in European territories.
Hero MotoCorp has gone full throttle at the 2025 Auto Expo and alongside the XPulse 210, Hero Xoom 160, and Xoom 125R, the Indian two-wheeler major has also launched its quickest bike yet – the Hero Xtreme 250R. The new quarter-litre naked sport bike is priced at ₹1.80 lakh(ex-showroom, Delhi).
The Hero Xtreme 250R is built around the same trellis frame that also underpins the Karizma XMR 210. But with the naked sport bike Hero has taken matters up a notch with premium components, featuring a 43 mm USD fork and a monoshock. As usual, braking duties are carried by disc brakes at both ends, with a 320 mm disc at the front, and a 230 mm disc for the rear. Lastly, dual-channel ABS is available as a standard for enhanced safety.
But what differentiates the new Hero Xtreme 250R from the Karizma XMR 210 by leaps and bounds is that all-new 250 cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine. The power plant delivers an impressive 29.58 bhp at 9,250 rpm and 25 Nm at 7,250 rpm – a substantial increase of 4 bhp and 5 Nm over the Karizma XMR's 210cc engine. Hero claims the bike can sprint from 0-60 kmph in approximately 3 seconds, which is pretty quick.
Design-wise, the Xtreme 250R sports a muscular yet compact profile and that is mainly due to the shorter wheelbase than the Karizma XMR. The aggressive styling is highlighted by a well-sculpted fuel tank and bold body panels, clearly targeting younger riders.
Just like the XPulse 210 4V, the Hero Xtreme 250R features the same 4.2-inch colour TFT display that supports smartphone connectivity, and thereby features like turn-by-turn navigation, and message notifications. Plus, a USB C-type charger comes as standard.
In the competitive quarter-liter segment, the Xtreme 250R will face off against established players like the Honda CB300F, Suzuki Gixxer 250, and the KTM 250 Duke. This launch signals Hero's serious intent to compete in the premium motorcycle market, a segment it has been missing out for long.
