BMW Motorrad registered quite a positive sentiment with its premium bike portfolio last year.
BMW Motorrad will kickstart its 2025 campaign in India by debuting two premium bikes – the R 1300 GS Adventure and the S 1000 RR – at the upcoming Bharat Mobiliy Global Expo that will happen in Delhi from January 17-22. The official announcement comes right after the brand confirmed that 2024 saw its premium bike portfolio register its best-ever annual sales last year. Thus to keep that momentum going, both bikes will ride in with some high aspirations. As for the bikes themselves, both the adventure and sports bikes underwent some extensive updates last year, which has made them more focused in their respective genres.
With the BMW R 1300 GS Adventure, BMW has made quite a few major tweaks that enhance its capabilities further building on the newfound credentials of the R 1300 GS. For starters, it gets a massive 30-litre fuel tank that will be enough to do cross-continent touring. And complimenting this upgrade will be its massive, chunky tank-style body design. Now mechanically, while the bike might share the same, more compact but bigger, 1,300 cc, boxer-twin engine producing the same 145 bhp and 149 Nm – but this is the first bike in BMW’s portfolio to get an automatic transmission gearbox called Automated Shift Assistant.
The BMW S 1000 RR, on the other hand, is now more focused with new and more distinct winglets and more extensive aero work around the body. From the M 1000 RR before, the 2025 BMW S 1000 RR gains Pro riding modes as standard, including Race Pro, and five levels of adjustable ABS settings. The 999 cc, inline-4 engine continues to produce 206 bhp and 113 Nm, though. But to distinguish the latest model from before are new colour options – Blackstorm metallic (base), Bluestone metallic (Sport), and Lightwhite uni/M Motorsport (M package).
BMW Motorrad India went pretty heavy premium bike launches last year. From the R 1300 GS to the F 900 GS Adventure, the R 12 NineT, and two of India's most premium electric scooters– the CE 04 and the CE 02. This repeated indulgence paid off with best-ever annual sales, going by the first two models that the brand has now decided to bring – looks will make it break its own record.
