The Honda NT1100 has received some significant mechanical updates and a new variant.
Honda has introduced several crucial updates to the NT1100, all of which aim to make the bike smoother and more comfortable than before.
The new 2025 Honda NT1100 has been launched in European markets, where the customer base for such bikes has always been strong, so much so, that Honda has already sold over 12,000 units since its launch in 2022.
Honda has heavily reworked the internals of the 1,084 cc parallel-twin for good low-end and mid-range torque. The Japanese marque achieved this by redesigning the camshaft and conrods, fitting a bigger airbox, and increasing the compression ratio from 10.1:1 to 10.5:1. Thereby, the same 1,084 cc mill now churns out 112 Nm produced as early as 5,500 rpm, compared to 105 Nm at 6,250 rpm before. Power remains the same at 101 bhp, though.
The six-axis IMU has also been updated with cornering ABS, and 3-levels of rear lift assist, along with traction control and wheelie control. Moreover, the DCT gearbox is now also linked to the IMU, which has helped further optimise auto-shifts.
While the 2025 Honda NT1100's underpinnings are the same as before, a new setup of Showa EERA USD fork and mono shock with electronic adjustability is new to this mix. Both are available as a completely new variant called NT1100 Electronic Suspension.
Beyond these mechanical and hardware updates, Honda has subtly updated the NT1100’s design for both form and function. For starters, the fairing design is slightly tweaked to make it look sharper, and the new sleek DRL design further helps establish the same. The wind deflectors have also been reprofiled, and they now have a new height-adjustability feature that can be operated by one hand.. Underlining these are three new colour options: Mat Warm Ash Metallic, Gunmetal Black Metallic, and Pearl Hawkseye Blue.
Beyond that, the rear mudguard is now extended for better protection, and the seat has also been redesigned to be bigger and more comfortable than before. The 6.5-inch TFT console, which supports both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, has remained the same, though.
Honda will not launch the 2025 NT1100 in India. Instead, we did have its adv-brethren, the CRF1100L Africa Twin, on sale until it was discontinued few months back. However, the design patent for the new 2024 Honda Africa Twin has already been trademarked, which gives us some hope that the ADV will eventually be launched again in India. Honda had updated the Africa Twin earlier, too, and the mechanical updates were on the same lines as those on the 2025 NT1100. So even though we may not have the sports tourer in India, we will eventually experience a slice of it, albeit in a different body.
