The 390 Adventure X will be the more touring-focused variant of the upcoming ADV.
With a few days remaining for the 2024 EICMA motorcycle show, more and more details of upcoming motorcycles have started leaking online. Yesterday we got to see the production version of the first Royal Enfield electric motorcycle and now we have details of the upcoming 2025 KTM 390 Adventure. As expected, the 390 ADV will be offered in two versions - the 390 Adventure X and the 390 Adventure R, with the X being the entry-level offering.
Based on the leaked details, the 390 ADV X is the more road-focussed of the two as it runs on a 19/17-inch alloy wheel setup, with more road-biased tyres. The seat height is also lower at 820 mm and visually both the variants will be similar. However, the 390 Adventure X sports a 220 mm travel non-adjustable suspension and doesn’t get cornering ABS to keep costs under check. The KTM motorcycle also misses out on a modern TFT display for a basic LCD unit and it might also miss out on ride modes too. It will be interesting to see whether the 390 Adventure X gets cruise control or not as seen on the 390 ADV R test mule.
Powering the bike will be the same 398 cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine as seen on the 390 Duke which delivers 45.3 bhp and 39 Nm. Transmission duties are handled by a 6-speed gearbox, but the X variant could lose out on quickshifter. The cost-cutting done by the Austrian brand seems deliberate on the 390 Adventure X as the next generation ADV bike will be expensive. We expect the 2025 KTM 390 Adventure X to be priced around ₹3.20-3.40 lakh (ex-showroom) and it should go on sale by early 2025.
