Changes are too minimal on the new bike to even notice, and yet they are subtly apparent.
Barely a few days after the updated 790 Adventure was announced, KTM has revealed the updated KTM 890 Adventure R for 2025. Unlike the 790, the 890 Adventure R sees a bunch of aesthetic revisions to make it look similar to its motorsport brethren, the KTM 450 Rally.
For starters, the revised graphic work on the body now mimics the rally bike. More likeness with visual cues are added, via the smaller windshield, higher front fender, and enhanced body protection bits.
Beyond this, the bike has remained the same. It continues to employ a 48 mm WP XPLOR fork and WP XPLOR PDS rear shock – again, shared with its rally brethren. Mechanically, the 889 ccs parallel-twin continues to dish out the same 102 bhp and 100 Nm peak torque. There are four ride modes to access the full spectrum of this performance: Rain, Street, Offroad, and Rally. For 2025, KTM has optimised the ABS intervention in the last two modes to make it more friendly and fun to play in loose gravel situations.
Deliveries for the 2025 KTM 890 Adventure R will start rolling off from the Austrian production line in November. The 890 Adventure R was recently launched in India, priced at ₹15.80 lakh (ex-showroom, India), and is brought here by the CBU route. So, if you're ordering the bike in India after a few months, then this is the bike that you most likely will get.
