JSW MG Motor India has introduced the 2025 Comet EV, featuring updated equipment while retaining its design. The pint-sized electric vehicle now offers five variants- Executive, Excite, Excite Fast Charge, Exclusive, and Exclusive Fast Charge. Additionally, a special Blackstorm edition has been launched, distinguished by a 'Starry Black' exterior, dark chrome accents, and a black interior.
Variant | BaaS Price (+ Rs. 2.5 per km) | Price |
---|---|---|
Executive | ₹4.99 lakh | ₹7 lakh |
Excite | ₹6.25 lakh | ₹8.26 lakh |
Excite Fast Charger | ₹6.77 lakh | ₹8.78 lakh |
Exclusive | ₹7.35 lakh | ₹9.36 lakh |
Exclusive Fast Charger | ₹7.77 lakh | ₹9.78 lakh |
In terms of enhancements, the mid-spec Excite and Excite Fast Charge variants now come equipped with a rear-view camera and power-folding ORVMs, features absent from the base Executive trim. The top-spec Exclusive and Exclusive Fast Charge variants gain further updates, including a four-speaker sound system and faux leatherette seats, addressing concerns over the light grey interior being prone to soiling.
Charging options have also been refined. All variants are supplied with a 3.3 kW AC charger, while the Excite and Exclusive trims offer an optional 7.4 kW AC charger, capable of charging the battery from zero to 100 per cent in 3.5 hours.
Mechanically, the 2025 Comet EV remains unchanged. It continues to be powered by a rear-mounted electric motor producing 42 bhp and 110 Nm of torque, paired with a 17.3 kWh battery pack delivering a claimed range of 230 km on a single charge (MIDC).
Pricing for the Comet EV starts at ₹4.99 lakh (ex-showroom) under the Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) model. This excludes the battery pack, which is available on a subscription basis at ₹2.5 per km.
