Volkswagen has officially unveiled the 2026 Taigun facelift. Prices for the same are expected to be announced soon. This marks the first substantial update for the Taigun ever since it was first launched in late 2021. Bookings for the updated Taigun have begun across all Volkswagen dealerships and at the company website
As seen in the teasers and spy shots, Volkswagen has adopted a conservative approach as far as design updates are concerned. It gets a slightly revised front fascia featuring a sleeker grille with a full-width light bar. The VW logo is now illuminated both at the front and rear of the car. The bumper of the SUV seems reworked with piano black inserts. The profile of the car stays intact, the only difference being the new set of alloy wheels.

Changes at the rear appear to mirror the front with updated LED taillamps, sequential LED turn indicators, and a mildly revised bumper. Volkswagen has also added a new Welcome & Goodbye animation for the taillights. Rest of the visuals from the updated Taigun remain the same. Volkswagen will offer as many as nine exterior colour options with the updated Taigun with two new additions namely Avocado Pearl and Steel Grey.

Inside the cabin, the 2026 Volkswagen Tiguan gets the same layout as the outgoing model, however, it benefits from an updated equipment. These include an updated 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster with navigation integration, and a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with 15 new applications. The new Taigun also gets a “Hello Volkswagen” AI assistant. The other notable feature update is full LED headlamps with auto levelling.

Other creature comforts on offer include panoramic sunroof, automatic climate control, and six-way electrically adjustable and ventilated front seats. Safety equipment includes features like six airbags, electronic stability control, hill-hold assist, and front and rear parking sensors. The Taigun has been awarded 5-star ratings for adult and child occupancy by Global NCAP previously.

Mechanically, the 2026 Volkswagen Taigun remains unchanged with the same engine options carried over from the pre-facelift model. This includes a 1.0-litre TSI turbo-petrol engine producing 114 bhp and 178 Nm of torque, along with a more powerful 1.5-litre TSI unit that delivers 148 bhp and 250 Nm. Transmission choices will continue to include a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic. In addition, the 1.0-litre unit gains a new 8-speed torque converter automatic, a gearbox that recently debuted on the Skoda Kushaq.
