Prices start at 219,000 CNY (approximately ₹29.75 lakh) for the Standard variant, with the top-end Max variant coming in at 303,900 CNY (approximately ₹41.29 lakh).

Just under two years after the official debut of its first-ever car on March 28, 2024, Xiaomi has formally launched the next-generation SU7 electric sedan. Following the launch, Xiaomi announced that it took only 34 minutes for 15,000 units to be booked. Prices start at 219,000 CNY (approximately ₹29.75 lakh) for the Standard variant, with the top-end Max variant coming in at 303,900 CNY (approximately ₹41.29 lakh).

Xiaomi promises comprehensive upgrades, most notably a new “Jiaolong” chassis which it says is sturdier and allows for more precise handling with less slippage on wet roads. All variants have a front double wishbone and rear five-link independent suspension system. The company has also upgraded the fixed brake calipers across the range. The chassis is built around an embedded roll cage and anti-collision beams. Nine airbags are standard across the range. Xiaomi says it has exceeded China NCAP safety standards. The battery pack now has a “bulletproof” coating and crossbeam for protection, and has passed over 1,000 safety tests.

In terms of design, it has a simpler but sportier front grille with an integrated 4D mmWave radar sensor. A number of wheel styles are available to choose from. External handles are now mechanical, in keeping with China’s new safety laws. Doors unlock automatically after a collision and have a redundant backup power supply. An internal emergency handle also works without power.
