Abarth 600e

The new model has been jointly developed by Abarth and Stellantis Motorsport.

Abarth and Stellantis Motorsport have teamed up to develop a new model for the former. Abarth claims that the upcoming model will be the most powerful ever, with 237 bhp on tap. While Abarth hasn’t officially announced the name of the new model yet, it seems like a tarted-up version of the Fiat 600e as a 600 badge is visible in one of the photos.

The new model will be based on the Perfo-eCMP, a new high-performance platform based on Stellantis’ eCMP. Abarth and Motorsport say they have spent thousands of hours testing this new platform. They say this has resulted in a platform that has high-performance powertrain and suspension components that have been tuned to provide secure handling and stability. The 600e will also have a bespoke limited slip differential, specifically designed for an electric vehicle.

Along with the 237 bhp powertrain, the 600e will also get an advanced braking system with bigger brake discs and larger disc surfaces to improve heat dissipation and reduce brake fade. Furthermore, it will use tyres developed from Stellantis’ involvement in Formula E which Abarth says will ensure better grip without compromising on range.

The upcoming model will also have improved seats compared to the Fiat 600e, as it will have racing ergonomics but a comfortable ride. Abarth claims that the seats have been designed with four different foams to improve support on different areas of the body. The Abarth model will have a slightly bigger spoiler on the tailgate compared to the Fiat model it is based on. Apart from this, expect it to have slight Abarth-based exterior modifications but look very similar to the Fiat 600e.
