ACKO Drive Awards 2026: TVS Motor Awarded TOTMs Hall of Fame Manufacturing Pioneer Honour

The fourth edition of the ACKO Drive Awards recognised not only the best of the best in passenger vehicles and bikes, but also honoured a set of forward-looking companies in the automotive sector. This year, TVS Motor was honoured as a Hall of Fame Manufacturing Pioneer.

The two- and three-wheeler major is among five industry-leading players headquartered in the Southern state of Tamil Nadu. The annual ACKO Drive Awards are hosted in different auto manufacturing hubs each year, and this year's event took place in Chennai.   

For TVS Motor Company, it all started with a humble two-seater moped with all of 50cc displacement, in 1980. Now, over four decades later, the OEM has built a legacy of robust engineering, quality manufacturing, and customer trust.

The Chennai-headquartered OEM started its motorcycle journey in partnership with Suzuki, but later went solo. From the TVS 50 moped to India’s first indigenous motorcycle, to rolling out racing-inspired performance, to leading a charge in the EV transition with intelligent, connected mobility, it’s been a journey of innovation, trust, and world-class manufacturing — now riding across over 90 countries. 

A strategic partnership with BMW Motorrad, and the acquisition of Norton Motorcycles, can also be seen as reflections of TVS Motor’s growing prowess and ambition.
