The Yamaha pavilion had an eccentric mix of modern bikes and iconic legends from the past
At the 2025 Auto Show we got to see many interesting brand pavilions but one manufacturer clearly won the hearts and votes of jurors - Yamaha. No wonder then, Yamaha Motor India won the Acko Drive Best of Show at Auto Expo 2025 for the Best Bike Brand Pavilion. The Yamaha stall faced stiff competition from TVS, BMW Motorrad and Hero MotoCorp.
Apart from showcasing new products and displaying their existing vehicles, Bharat Mobility Global Expo is also a great platform for brands to showcase their creative aspect in the pavilion layouts and design. However, brands aren’t appreciated for the efforts put in to make the auto show a grand spectacle for the audiences and everyone attending the event. Taking note of this, Siddharth Vinayak Patankar, Editor-in-Chief of Acko Drive has been organising special awards for the Auto Expo and the tradition continues in 2025 too. The Acko Drive Best of Show at Auto Expo 2025 winners were carefully picked by our jury members who need no introduction - Yogendra Pratap, Renuka Kirpalani, Hani Musthafa and members of team Acko Drive.
What swung the votes in Yamaha’s favour was the sheer size of its pavilion and the variety of bikes on display. From performance motorcycles such as the Yamaha Tenere 700 Raid, Yamaha R7 to the current FZ series and scooters, a lot was on show. The Yamaha Lander 250 was clearly the show-stopper as we have been waiting for a Yamaha ADV bike for a very long time. The cherry on the cake were the Yamaha MotoGP bikes of Fabio Quartararo and Alex Rins along with their own race suits and helmets were on display. But the best part of the pavilion had to be the Legacy display as Yamaha celebrated its 40 years of operations in our country.
The star of the pavilion was the Yamaha RD350, which is touted by many as the first performance motorcycle to go on sale in India. The iconic bike made its debut in our country in 1983 and was manufactured by the Escorts Group, the other bikes on the stand included the Yamaha RX100, Yamaha YZF-R15 Version 1.0 and the first-generation Yamaha FZ16. Yamaha also displayed the very interesting Y/AI concept bike which appeared in the anime Tokyo Overdrive. Visitors could also try their hands on the MotoGP bikes at the PS5 gaming booth or even buy official Yamaha merchandise.
