The new Photoshop mobile app includes core Photoshop tools and features.
Adobe has launched the mobile version of its popular photo editing and design tool, Photoshop. The app is currently available for iPhone users. While this isn't directly a mobile version of the desktop software, Adobe states that it is designed to empower mobile-first creators who may be just getting started.
The new Photoshop mobile app includes core Photoshop tools and features, including precise selection tools, unlimited layers, and masks that let users combine images and design unique creations.
Users can remove, recolour, or replace parts of images with the Tap Select tool, and use the Spot Healing Brush for spot removals. The app also features AI-based Generative Fill and Generative Expand capabilities.
Adobe has also introduced a new Photoshop Mobile & Web plan, available via the App Store, giving creators access to premium mobile features and Photoshop on the web. For existing Photoshop desktop subscribers, Photoshop on iPhone is now included with every subscription that includes Photoshop, with cloud sync for edits.
Photoshop for iPhone allows users to bring their cloud PSDs into Adobe Express and Adobe Fresco, and even edit Adobe Lightroom photos directly in Photoshop. The app supports full-resolution editing in PSD format and provides access to a vast library of hundreds of thousands of free Adobe Stock assets.
The web access offers advanced features like Camera RAW filter, shapes, layer effects, Quick Actions, and generative AI features including Generate Similar, Reference Image, and more.
Premium mobile capabilities include the Remove Tool, Clone Stamp to hide unwanted objects by cloning areas of an image, Content-Aware Fill, Object Select, and Advanced Blend Modes for color effects. Users also gain access to 20,000 fonts and print quality in a variety of formats including PSD, TIF, JPG, and PNG.
The app features AI-based tools like Generative Fill, Generative Expand, and Text to Image, all powered by Adobe Firefly. Photoshop for mobile is currently available only for iPhone users, while Android availability is in development. The app is free to download, and the new Photoshop Mobile & Web plan can be purchased through the App Store.
