AFib History allows you to access and track atrial fibrillation history easily.
Apple has rolled out its AFib History feature to users in India on Apple Watch Series 4 and later, running watchOS 9. This new feature allows users to access and track their atrial fibrillation (AFib) history effortlessly. With heart disease being a leading cause of mortality worldwide, this new feature has the potential to empower millions of Indian users to take control of their heart health like never before.
Atrial fibrillation (AFib) is a common heart rhythm disorder that affects millions worldwide. It occurs when the heart's upper chambers, the atria, beat irregularly and out of sync with the lower chambers. If left untreated, AFib can lead to serious complications, including stroke, heart failure, and other cardiovascular issues.
The AFib History feature on Apple Watch Series 4 and later takes heart health monitoring to new heights. It enables users to access a detailed record of their heart's rhythm over time. By leveraging the built-in heart rate sensors and advanced algorithms, the Apple Watch can detect irregular heart rhythms and notify users of potential AFib episodes.
Checking your AFib History on your Apple Watch is a straightforward process. Users need to follow these simple steps:
Open the "Health" app on your paired iPhone.
Navigate to the "Heart" section within the app.
Tap on AFib History.
Here, you will find a detailed record of your heart's rhythm, including any detected AFib episodes.
Users can also access AFib notifications directly on their Apple Watch. The device will alert users when an irregular heart rhythm is detected, prompting them to check their heart rhythm through the Health app on their iPhones.
Activating the AFib History feature on compatible Apple Watch models is quite easy. Before you go ahead, ensure that you have updated your Apple Watch to watchOS 9 or the latest version available.
Open the "Health" app on your paired iPhone.
Tap on "Browse" and select "Heart."
Look for the "AFib History" option.
Tap on "Set Up" and Get Started.
Provide your date of birth details and tap on Agree.
Tap on Done.
Once activated, the watch will monitor your heart rhythm periodically and send notifications if any irregularity is detected.
