The Android 15 update is rolling out to 13 Pixel devices, including both the Pixel Tablet and Pixel Fold, bringing substantial security enhancements while maintaining a familiar visual interface similar to Android 14.

AI-powered Theft Detection Lock On Android 15

A standout feature in Android 15 is the innovative AI-powered Theft Detection Lock system. This security feature automatically triggers device lockdown if it detects potential theft attempts. Additionally, the system implements mandatory authentication when SIM cards are removed, effectively rendering the device inoperable if unauthorised access is attempted.

Privacy-conscious users will appreciate the new Private Space feature, previously seen in other Android implementations like OneUI. This functionality enables users to conceal specific applications behind an authentication barrier.

For Pixel's foldable devices, including the Pixel Fold and Pixel 9 Pro Fold, enhanced multitasking capabilities arrive through customisable taskbar app pinning, supporting both single and paired applications.

The update delivers across-the-board improvements to the Pixel ecosystem, introducing enhanced camera capabilities with Low Light Boost and refined in-app controls. Network functionality sees significant upgrades, notably including satellite messaging support for compatible models. Modern security features expand with the integration of one-tap Passkey login functionality.

New Pixel smartphone owners should find their devices eligible for this comprehensive update, as Google maintains broad compatibility across its recent device portfolio.
