The iPhone 16 Models have been leaked numerous times in the last few weeks

It seems the iPhone Pro Max models are getting a size upgrade. A new report suggests that the iPhone 16 Pro Max will feature a 6.9-inch screen, up from the 6.7-inch display that has been a staple since 2019 when Apple introduced the Pro Max model.

Recent live photos comparing the iPhone 15 Pro Max with iPhone 16 Pro Max dummies have emerged, confirming the new dimensions and the presence of a pressure-sensitive action button on the side. Another button is anticipated, allowing users to capture spatial video. The new model is expected to be 5mm taller and 0.5mm wider, while the screen’s aspect ratio will stay the same. Apple is also expected to reduce the bezels further.

Reports from the Apple supply chain indicate that the iPhone 16 is on track for a September launch, staying true to Apple’s traditional release schedule. This information comes from Ross Young of Display Supply Chain Consultants, who shared the update on X. He revealed that production of the iPhone 16 display panels is about to start, with most displays for the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 being produced in June, while production for the larger models will ramp up later in the summer.

The iPhone 16 Pro models are set to receive a significant camera upgrade, incorporating a larger sensor to compete with Chinese OEMs that have recently surpassed the iPhone in still photograph image quality. The ultra-wide camera is expected to jump from 12 megapixels to 48 megapixels, and the telephoto camera will feature a 12x zoom lens, up from the current 5x maximum. This improvement addresses the previous disparity seen in the iPhone 15 Pro model’s telephoto capabilities.

iOS 18 is anticipated to include a major AI-infused update. Apple has reportedly secured a deal with OpenAI to license its generative AI technology to run natively on the iPhone. Additionally, Apple has developed its own generative AI technology, which will likely operate on-device, leveraging the power of its Apple Silicon. Talks are also underway with Google to license the Gemini AI models.

On the performance front, the iPhone 16 Pro models are expected to feature a significant boost, inspired by the new M4 processor in the A18 Pro chipset. The M4’s NPU can handle 38 trillion operations per second, and the iPhone 16 may approach this figure.

Numerous user interface updates are also expected in iOS 18. Apple is likely to revamp Siri, its 13-year-old virtual assistant, which has fallen behind competitors. Senior Vice Presidents John Giannandrea and Craig Federighi have reportedly acknowledged that Apple’s technology lags behind the voice capabilities seen in ChatGPT.
