Deliveries will begin from early-2024 onwards
After its debut at the Bharat GP, the Aprilia RS 457 will be launched at this weekend’s India Bike Week 2023. Aprilia India has released a video on its social media hinting at a significant announcement at IBW 2023, leading to speculation that the company could announce its prices at the motorcycle festival.
The Aprilia RS 457 takes significant styling inspiration from the larger RS 660 in the brand's lineup. It incorporates design elements such as a split headlamp, split seats, and a sharply styled fairing from the bigger bike. These features contribute to the overall appearance, making the Aprilia RS 457 seamlessly blend into the Aprilia RS family.
Powered by a 457 cc liquid-cooled twin-cylinder engine, the Aprilia RS 457 has an impressive output of 47.6 bhp and 48 Nm of torque. This figure surpasses the power of both the Kawasaki Ninja 400, which stands at 45 bhp, and the KTM RC 390, which offers 43 bhp. With a kerb weight of 175 kg, the Aprilia RS 457 is only marginally heavier than the RC by 3kg. This slight weight difference and more power is expected to contribute to a fun and dynamic riding experience.
The underpinnings on the Aprilia RS457 consist of a 41 mm USD fork and monoshock, both featuring preload adjustability. The braking system includes 320 mm and 220 mm discs, along with dual-channel ABS and a supermoto mode tailored for rear sliding. The 17-inch alloys are wrapped in TVS Eurogrip Protorq Extreme tyres.
The upcoming Aprilia RS457 will face competition from the Yamaha R3, set to launch on December 15, 2023. Additionally, it will compete with the KTM RC 390 and Kawasaki Ninja 400 who are already in the segment.
Expect the new Aprilia RS457 to start at just under the ₹4 lakh mark (ex-showroom). It will be exclusively available through the premium Motoplex dealerships. Aprilia has already disclosed prices for the US and Canada markets, with deliveries slated to commence from April 2024 onwards.
