The Valiant is a road-legal track-ready version of the Aston Martin Valour.
Aston Martin has introduced the Valiant, a reworked version of the Valour that debuted in 2023. It is a road-legal track-ready supercar designed with the help of two-time Formula 1 champion, Fernando Alonso.
The Valiant was originally conceived as a special commission for Alonso to become a more hardcore, lightweight version of the Valour. Aston Martin will only produce 38 units of the Valiant globally, while it will produce 110 units of the Valiant. Deliveries of the Valiant will commence towards the end of this year and Alonso will be the first customer.
Aston Martin has given the Valiant the same 5.2-litre twin-turbocharged V12 engine as the Valour but it produces 735 bhp and 753 Nm, 35 bhp more. It continues to be mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. It also gets Multimatic Adaptive Spool Valve (ASV) dampers which Aston Martin says the Valiant can “simultaneously adjust each damper to one of 32 discreet damper curves in less than six milliseconds.”
The Valiant also has a massive rear wing and a large rear diffuser to help improve the aerodynamics and downforce. To help with this, the Valiant also gets a deeper front splitter and a much larger grille. It has three driving modes – Sport, Sport+ and Track – which Aston Martin claims have been recalibrated for the Valiant. The 21-inch alloy wheels get motorsport-inspired aero discs to reduce turbulence and drag created by the wheels. Braking is handled by large Carbon Ceramic discs which Aston Martin says will allow for fade-free stopping power.
To make it track-ready, Aston Martin has also used lightweight materials in the Valiant. The 3D-printed rear subframe reduces 3 kg, the magnesium torque tube is lighter by 8.6 kg, the 21-inch magnesium wheels reduce the unsprung mass by 14 kg and the battery reduces weight further by 11.5 kg. This reduces the weight by around 37 kg.
Inside, the Valiant gets a half-roll cage and Recaro Podium racing seats with the option of fitting a four-point racing harness. Aston Martin has extensively used carbon fibre and Alcantara in the cabin and even the linkages for the gearbox are exposed for an authentic race car feel. To improve the shift and feel of the gearbox, Aston Martin has used a weighted gear knob.
