Asus ROG, TUF, Zenbook, Vivobook, Laptops Updated with AMD Ryzen AI CPUs

Asus has released a swathe of new laptops based on AMD’s brand new Ryzen AI 300-series processors. The new models address multiple market segments across the Taiwanese giant’s gaming, creator, mainstream, and premium ranges. The updates promise to bring on-device AI acceleration to a wide audience. Asus says these new laptops, which were first unveiled at Computex 2024, are slim and light, and promises vibrant OLED displays on many of them. All of them will be listed for sale on Asus India’s online store, Flipkart and Amazon, with several also available offline at authorised retail stores.

Starting with gaming laptops, the new Asus ROG Zephyrus G16 (GA605) is targeted at demanding gamers and content creators. It features the AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 processor and up to an Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 GPU. Its QHD+ 240Hz “ROG Nebula Display” promises 500nits brightness, a 90Wh battery with fast charging, and plenty of connectivity including Wi-Fi 7, a 40Gbps USB4 port, and even an SD card slot. The new Zephyrus G16 is 25 percent thinner than the previous generation at 14.9mm, with an aluminium unibody. and weighs 1.85kg. It is priced starting at Rs. 1,94,990.

For gamers on a budget, there’s the new TUF Gaming A14 is based on the same Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 processor, with up to a GeForce RTX 4060 GPU. You can have up to two M.2 PCIe SSDs and up to 32GB of DDR5 RAM. This laptop has a 14-inch 2.5K 165Hz display and a 73Wh battery that can be charged quickly over USB Type-C. There’s 40Gbps USB4 and Wi-Fi 6E. This laptop is 16.9mm thick and weighs 1.46kg. Prices start at Rs. 1,69,990.

The Zenbook S 16 OLED is a premium laptop that supports Microsoft’s CoPilot+ AI features. It’s just 11mm thick and weighs 1.5kg. It has an all-metal body with a “ceraluminium” lid and MIL-STD 810H toughness rating. The Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 CPU is matched with 32GB of LPDDR5X-7500 RAM and a 1TB PCIe SSD. You get a 16-inch 3K Asus “Lumina OLED” display with a 120Hz refresh rate, 100% DCI-P3 colour gamut coverage, and VESA DisplayHDR 500 True Black certification plus six speakers tuned by Harmon/Kardon with Dolby Atmos. Asus claims up to 18 hours of battery life with a 78Wh battery, and fast charging over USB Type-C. There’s USB4 plus an HDMI 2.1 port and an SD card slot despite the thin chassis. It will cost Rs. 1,49,990.

The more affordable ASUS Vivobook S 14 OLED (M5406W) is 13.9mm thin and weighs 1.3 kg. It has a Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 CPU with up to 24 GB of LPDDR5X RAM and a 512 GB PCIe Gen 4 SSD. The 14-inch 3K ASUS Lumina OLED display has a 120Hz refresh rate, with Pantone and VESA DisplayHDR True Black 600 certification. Asus claims up to 17 hours of battery life plus fast charging over USB Type-C. You also get a full-HD IR webcam for Windows Hello face recognition and customizable RGB keyboard backlighting. Prices start at Rs. 1,24,990.

For creative professionals on the go, the ASUS ProArt PX13 2-in-1 convertible laptop offers portability as well as AI features. It weighs 1.38 kg and is 15.8 mm thin. This model uses the Ryzen AI 9 365 Processor with a GeForce RTX 4050 GPU. It has a 13-inch 3K 60Hz 16:10 “Lumina OLED” touchscreen with stylus support. Asus says it is capable of 100 percent DCI-P3 colour gamut coverage, and is Pantone validated for accurate colour representation. You also get Wi-Fi 7, multiple ports, and a trackpad with a virtual jog dial. Prices start at Rs. 1,79,990 in India.
