Ather Energy has launched a new battery warranty scheme that will be available with both its Rizta and 450 scooters. Called the Eight70 Warranty scheme, this new programme will address customer’s concerns with long-term battery health, performance, and replacement costs. Under this new scheme, Ather Energy will provide a battery warranty for up to 8 years or 80,000 km, depending upon whichever comes first.
Additionally, it will also provide 70 per cent battery health assurance, plus full coverage against manufacturing defects and failures. There will be no upper limits to claim amounts, plus there are no claim rejections available too in case of a deep discharge of battery cells when the scooter is left uncharged or has been accidentally left idle for over a long period of time.

The new Eight70 Warranty scheme will be available as an add-on purchase for either 3 year or 5-year period at ₹4,999 (including GST). It will also be available as part of the Ather Pro pack as standard. Speaking on the occasion of this new scheme Ravneet Singh Phokela, Chief Business Officer, Ather Energy Limited, said, “Battery durability is a crucial factor for EV buyers. We often hear about customers' apprehensions regarding the longevity and replacement costs of the batteries of their electric scooters.”
“We believe this initiative will play a crucial role in building trust in the EV ecosystem and encouraging more people to embrace sustainable mobility,” concluded Rakesh Jain, CEO, Reliance General Insurance
