The upcoming “EL” platform will underpin a series of affordable, low-cost electric scooters from Ather Energy.
Ather Energy plans to reveal its long-awaited electric scooter on 30 August during the company's annual community event. The upcoming model will be developed using Ather's latest 'EL' platform technology.
A promotional social media post indicates the forthcoming electric scooter will offer versatility, scalability, and enhanced affordability. The EL platform will initially appear as a concept demonstration later this month, with the commercial model expected to reach Indian consumers in 2026.
Ather Energy has spent more than ten years developing high-performance, premium electric scooters, establishing strong brand recognition in this segment. However, to expand its market presence, the manufacturer requires affordable entry-level electric scooters, a gap the new EL platform is expected to address.
The company is currently constructing a manufacturing facility in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra. Although Ather Energy has not disclosed specific production details for this plant, the new EL product range will likely be manufactured at this location for nationwide distribution.
