Isuzu Motors India, a subsidiary of Japan's Isuzu Motors Limited, has celebrated a decade of manufacturing operations at its production facility in Sri City, Andhra Pradesh. Inaugurated in April 2016, the plant operates as a key hub for Isuzu's global 'monozukuri' manufacturing philosophy, supplying utility vehicles and pickup trucks to both the Indian domestic market and key export destinations across the Middle East and Asia.

Over the past decade, the Sri City manufacturing facility has achieved significant operational milestones, including rolling out its 1,00,000th vehicle in 2024. Expanding beyond finished vehicles, the plant commenced Phase II operations with a dedicated press shop and engine assembly line, enabling the company to export over one lakh Made-in-India engines. In FY25, Isuzu Motors India emerged as India's leading commercial vehicle exporter, shipping 20,312 units overseas, which represents a 24% increase over the previous fiscal year.

Financially, the Indian subsidiary has maintained steady profitability since FY22, delivering 2.5 times profitable growth in the recent fiscal year driven by strong domestic and export demand. On the operational side, the facility employs over 1,300 personnel, with local employment comprising 82% of the workforce and women accounting for approximately 28% of the production-line staff.

Speaking at the milestone event, Naohiro Yamaguchi, President and CEO of Isuzu Motors Limited, reaffirmed India's strategic importance as a global manufacturing hub. Rajesh Mittal, President and Managing Director of Isuzu Motors India, added that the Sri City plant remains central to the brand's 'Never Stop' philosophy, focusing on local engineering capability, export expansion, and long-term customer trust.
