Ather Konarc teaser confirms a metal body ahead of the electric scooter's official launch on August 29.
Ather Energy has offered another glimpse of its upcoming electric scooter, the Ather Konarc, ahead of its global debut on August 29, 2026. The teaser confirms one of the scooter's key highlights—a metal body. After the 450 series and the Rizta, the Ather Konarc will be the third EV offering from the Indian brand. The main advantage of metal body panels is ruggedness, ease of fixing dents and also insurance cost is almost half that of plastic panels when it comes to replacement. The only other major electric scooter to feature full metal body panels is the Bajaj Chetak.
The Konarc will be the first production model based on Ather's new EL platform, which promises to offer better range, performance and features while being more affordable. According to the company, the new platform will also support a new generation of electric scooters aimed at a wider audience. It is expected to help Ather expand beyond its current premium offerings and strengthen its presence in the mass-market electric two-wheeler segment.
The Ather Konarc will make its official debut on August 29, 2026, during Ather Community Day in Bengaluru. The Ather Konarc will be initially manufactured in Karnataka but the company plans to expand production once its upcoming manufacturing facility in Maharashtra is operational in 2027. Demand for electric scooters are at an all-time high with all manufacturers setting record sales figures and Ather Energy CEO and Co-founder, Tarun Mehta had recently shared that the company could have sold around 15,000 units more had production matched the demand.
