With this new collaboration, Ather Grid charging points can be accessed on Google Maps.
Ather Energy has collaborated with Google to improve the accessibility of its fast-charging stations for customers. This partnership will see the implementation of the Light Electric Combined Charging System (LECCS), which will help customers easily locate Ather Grid fast chargers on Google Maps, complete with real-time availability updates.

The new feature aims to streamline the public charging experience by providing several key benefits. In addition to promptly listing newly installed chargers on the navigation platform, the LECCS will now be officially recognised as a plug type on Google Maps, which will also allow users to set it as their default connector. This means that any vehicle compatible with LECCS can now easily locate and use Ather Grid fast-charging stations.
The collaboration with Google Maps is the latest in a series of innovations from Ather Energy, which has been investing heavily in research and development since its inception. This new inclusion comes in addition to the recently integrated popular consumer technologies into its vehicles, including Google Maps navigation, Alexa skills, and WhatsApp notifications, to its Ather Connect app.

Ather Energy's charging network is based on the LECCS standard, which was recently approved for nationwide adoption by the Bureau of Indian Standards. This move towards a universal standard is expected to boost interoperability and accelerate the adoption of electric vehicles across India. As of March 30th, 2024, Ather Energy deployed 1,973 fast chargers accessible to the public, demonstrating the company's commitment to creating a comprehensive charging infrastructure.
