Deliveries of this new mid-spec variant will start later this month.
Ather Energy has expanded the Rizta range by adding another variant to the ‘S’ trim which was earlier available with just the 2.2 kWh battery pack. Priced at ₹1.37 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), this new mid-spec S variant will be powered by the same 3.7 kWh battery pack that offers 160 km of claimed range on a single charge. And yet, it is ₹13,000 less expensive than the top-spec ‘Z’ trim powered by the same battery pack, which is priced at ₹1.50 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
The affordable price tag does come with its fair share of omissions, but all the essential features have been retained. So, it continues to boast the same 7-inch TFT console with Ather’s patented DeepView Display for a crisp and clear readout. It supports all the connectivity features that you’ll get on the top-spec ‘Z’ variant which include turn-by-turn navigation, call/SMS alert, etc. Additionally, Ather has also included AutoHold, Fall Safe, Emergency Stop Signal and Tow and Theft alert with this new variant as standard. However, there was no mention of the ‘Magic Twist’ regen braking and Skid Control (traction control) in the press release, which can mean that the scooter is not available with the same.

Aside from missing out on a few features, the new Ather Rizta S with 3.7 kWh battery is the same as the top-spec Z variant. It will continue to boast that massive 34-litre underseat storage space, plus the 22-litre frunk. It will also come with Ather’s comprehensive 8 year or 80,000 km warranty scheme, which guarantees a minimum 70 percent battery health over the ownership period. “As an ongoing quest to expand our portfolio addressing different consumer needs, we are excited to introduce the Rizta S with a higher range. With the new variant offering 159 km on a single charge, riders can confidently plan their day, making it ideal for commuters with high daily usage,” noted Ravneet S. Phokela, Chief Business Officer, Ather Energy Limited.

Bookings for the new Ather Rizta S variant with 3.7 kWh battery has already commenced across all Ather showrooms in the country, and online as well. Deliveries will commence later this month. Once launched, the Ather Rizta will continue to compete against the likes of the Bajaj Chetak, TVS iQube and the Ola S1 range. Since the majority of the new Rizta is essentially the same as before, its ride quality should also remain the same. To find out how the Ather Rizta rides, check out our first ride review below:
