This is the second time this year that Audi India has hiked the ex-showroom price of all its models.

Prices of all Audi models in India will be hiked by 2 per cent, confirmed by the manufacturer, effective from June 1, onwards, citing rising input and transportation costs. This is the second price hike from the Ingolstadt-based manufacturer in the country this year. The brand’s first hike came at the start of 2024 in January. Back then, the hike was also the same 2 per cent and was introduced to combat the same rising input and transport costs, just like this time.

“The price correction aims to ensure sustainable growth for Audi India and our Dealer partners,” explained Balbir Singh Dhillon, Head of Audi India. Currently, Audi retails a total of 15 models in India which includes  -  Audi A4, Audi A6, Audi A8 L, Audi Q3, Audi Q3 Sportback, Audi Q5, Audi Q7, Audi Q8, Audi S5 Sportback, Audi RS5 Sportback, Audi RS Q8, Audi Q8 50 e-tron, Audi Q8 55 e-tron, Audi Q8 Sportback 50 e-tron, Audi Q8 Sportback 55 e-tron, Audi e-tron GT and Audi RS e-tron GT.

Audi is not the only German manufacturer to have hiked prices of its models this year. Earlier in January 2024, prices of all BMW models in India were also hiked by 2 per cent, followed by Mercedes-Benz India which had hiked prices of its select models by 2 per cent. The reason cited by both the German manufacturers was again the same rising input and transportation costs.

Volvo had also followed the same suit and hiked prices of all its models in India in 2024 due to fluctuations in foreign exchange rates, and rising input costs. Similarly, other manufacturers like Maruti Suzuki, Tata Motors, Citroen, Skoda, and Volkswagen had also hiked the prices of its models at the start of this year. But Audi has spearheaded this trend by being the first manufacturer to introduce a second hike this year.
