August 2026 Auto Sales: TVS Motor Records Massive 21% Sales Jump, EV Sales Boom

TVS Motor Company has posted a strong performance in August 2026, registering a 21 per cent year-on-year increase in total sales. The company sold 6,16,540 vehicles in August, 2026, compared to 5,09,536 units in the corresponding month last year. The stellar sales performance is courtesy healthy domestic demand, robust export volumes and rapid growth in its electric vehicle portfolio.

TVS Motor's core two-wheeler business remained the primary growth driver during the month. Total two-wheeler sales increased 21 per cent to 5,91,437 units, up from 4,90,788 units in the corresponding month last year. Domestic two-wheeler sales also remained strong, rising 18% to 4,33,796 units, compared to 3,68,862 units in August 2025. The growth reflects sustained demand across motorcycles and scooters in the Indian market. 

The standout performer for TVS in August, 2026 was its electric vehicle business. The company recorded 59,453 electric two-wheeler sales, marking a massive 137 per cent year-on-year increase from 25,138 units sold in August 2025. The sharp jump highlights the accelerating adoption of electric mobility in India with the uncertainty around petrol prices and ethanol blending. The TVS iQube and the recently launched Orbiter have been warmly received by the Indian audience in the EV segment. 

TVS Motor's international two-wheeler sales also grew 29 per cent, reaching 15,7,641 units, up from 1,21,926 units a year earlier. Exports are turning into a strong business proposition for the brand as demand for TVS vehicles increase at a rapid pace in the Latin American market.
