Just like the Bajaj Freedom 125, the new TVS Jupiter CNG will also get dual-fuel capability on board.
The TVS Jupiter CNG has been officially showcased at the Auto Expo 2025. While we are still waiting for TVS to confirm the exact launch timeline, key details of the world’s first CNG scooter have been revealed – and here’s what’s new.
Since the TVS Jupiter CNG is based on the same platform as the Jupiter 125, it ends up with a spacious footboard, and the petrol fuel filler cap is located at the front too. Suspension and brakes have also remained the same, and the diamond cut alloy wheels have continued here as well.
However, that massive 33-litres of underseat storage space has completely vanished here, and in its place sits the 1.4 kg (9.5-litre) CNG fuel tank. Beyond this, the TVS Jupiter CNG looks identical to the Jupiter 125. TVS claims that the Jupiter CNG boasts a cumulative range of 226 km and with 84 km/kg of mileage it translates to a running cost of less ₹1 per km.
Powering the TVS Jupiter CNG is the same 125 cc, single-cylinder engine from the Jupiter 125. The engine has been updated in the CNG scooter to make it dual-fuel compatible. Due to which performance has dropped big time to 7.10 bhp and 9.4 Nm, from 8.04 bhp and 10.5 Nm in the Jupiter 125.
On the features front, the TVS Jupiter CNG is available with a LED headlamp, semi-digital speedometer, side stand indicator, and engine inhibitors. TVS’ intelliGO start-stop technology will also be available here, which should further make the engine more economical.
Once launched, the TVS Jupiter CNG will be the only one of its kind scooter on sale. Its nearest competition is the Bajaj Freedom 125 CNG. All that remains to be seen now is when TVS launches the Jupiter CNG.
