Vietnamese EV manufacturer, VinFast has officially commenced its journey in India by showcasing the VF7 and VF6 in Bharat Mandapam at the Auto Expo 2025. Both are fully-electric SUVs, and both are debuting in the country as a right-hand-drive for the first time. VinFast will launch these SUVs later this year but details about the same are still under wraps.
In the Vietnamese market, the VinFast VF6 is available in two trim levels – Eco and Plus. Both are powered by a 59.6 kWh lithium-ion battery that is good for 399 km of range in the former trim, and 381 km in the latter. The battery powers a single-electric motor in both the trims. But in the Eco trim it is tuned to produce 174 hp/ 250 Nm, and in the Plus trim it produces 201 hp/ 310 Nm.
Beyond that, both VF6 trims are available with Level 2 ADAS which gets you adaptive cruise control, emergency lane keep assist, and lane centering assist. The functions to all of these can be accessed by a massive 12.9-inch infotainment screen.

The VinFast VF7 is longer, wider and bigger than the VF6 and thereby is a much premium offering. But just like the VF6, the VF7 is also available in two trim levels – Eco and Plus. Both are powered by a bigger 75.3 kWh, but in the Eco trim it is good for 450 km of range, and in the Plus trim it can do 431 km of range on a single charge. This drop in range is partly because of the fact that the VF7 gets dual-electric motors with a cumulative output of 348 hp and 500 Nm. The Eco trim gets a single electric motor setup that produces 201 hp and 310 Nm.
Just like the VF6, the VF7 also gets Level 2 ADAS features including Lane Centering Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control, and Emergency Lane Keep Assist. The controls to all of which can be accessed via a 12.9-inch infotainment screen.
