The Chennai-based company’s overall sales grew by 25 per cent in April 2024.

One of India’s leading two-wheeler and three-wheeler manufacturers, TVS has kickstarted FY24-25 with a 25 percent year-on-year growth. Its cumulative sales increased from 3,06,224 units in April 2023 to 3,83,615 units in April 2024. This was mainly driven by strong demand for its two-wheelers in the domestic and international markets, thus further highlighting its continued success in this segment.

Its two-wheelers alone accounted for a cumulative 27 per cent year-on-year growth with sales increasing from 294,786 units in April 2023 to 374,592 units in April 2024. Of which, 3,01,449 units were sold in the domestic market, which again is a 29 per cent year-on-year growth, as against 2,32,956 units it sold in April 2023.

Out of the 3,01,449 units, 1,88,110 units were motorcycles whereas, the rest 1,44,126 units sold came from its scooters. Moreover, motorcycle sales grew by 24 per cent, while scooter sales grew by 34 per cent.

On the other hand, despite the introduction of the new fund-limited Electric Mobility Promotion Scheme (EMPS) 2024 in April, TVS maintained a steady momentum with its EV sales. Last month, the brand retailed 17,403 units of its iQube and X, both in the domestic market, which again is quite the robust year-on-year growth as against the 6,227 units it sold in April 2023.
