August sales couldn’t match the record sales managed by the Japanese giant in July 2024.
Suzuki Motorcycle India Pvt. Ltd. (SMIPL) released its sales figures for the month of August 2024. The Japanese brand witnessed a minor 1% year-on-year growth as it dispatched 1,04,800 units last month. What would please Suzuki is the fact that domestic sales improved by 5% at 87,480 units, however exports dropped by 2,971 units last month compared to August, 2023’s performance.

Commenting on the sales performance, Devashish Handa, Executive Vice President - Sales, Marketing and After Sales, Suzuki Motorcycle India Pvt. Ltd. said, “August has been yet another month of the continual YOY monthly growth trend that we have been experiencing in our domestic sale for which we would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to our customers for their continuous patronage and to our dealerships for their consistent effort to provide customer experience in line with expectations. As we approach the festive season, we are ready to meet the increasing demand and continue delivering excellence in both products and services.
Suzuki had registered record sales in July, 2024 as domestic sales crossed the 1 lakh milestone for the first time. Compared to which sales in August, 2024 have been disappointing. However, the Japanese brand will be banking on the upcoming festive season to boost sales. Suzuki’s scooter portfolio has been going strong especially with the Access 125 being the 125cc scooter segment leader. In contrast motorcycles have been declining and it’s high time, the Japanese two-wheeler giant introduced a new bike to arrest this slide.
