The Maruti Suzuki Brezza not only topped this list but was also the best-selling model in the automotive industry.
Sales of SUVs have been increasing constantly because it is a segment that is gaining immense popularity. The subcompact SUV segment is also a popular segment with eight models on offer. Here are five best-selling subcompact SUVs in India in August 2024.
The Brezza is not only the bestselling subcompact SUV, it is also the best-selling model in the country. Maruti Suzuki’s larger subcompact SUV only gets a 1.5-litre petrol engine with mild-hybrid assist with the option of a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission. Features-wise, it gets a 9-inch infotainment touchscreen, 360-degree camera, six airbags, sunroof, wireless charger and more.
Maruti Suzuki’s other subcompact SUV, the Fronx, trails its larger sibling by a decent margin. The Fronx is also a coupe SUV that comes with a choice of two engines – a 1.2-litre petrol and a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol. In terms of features, it is also pretty loaded since it also comes with a 9-inch infotainment touchscreen, 360-degree camera, head-up display, six airbags, and wireless charger, among others.
The Nexon was one of Tata Motors’ bestselling models last month. The Indian auto giant’s subcompact SUV is available with a choice of a petrol or a diesel engine as well as an all-electric powertrain. Notably, this figure includes sales of both the internal combustion engine (ICE) and the EV. The Nexon comes with features like a 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen, a 10.25-inch virtual instrument cluster, a 360-degree camera, six airbags, an AQI reader, a single-pane sunroof and more.
Kia India’s bestselling model in the past few months comes fourth in this list. It is a very capable SUV and comes with a choice of two petrol and one diesel engine. Apart from the three engine options, there are six gearbox options to choose from. Like all Kia models, there’s no dearth of features on offer. You get two 10.25-inch screens, a Bose-tuned audio system, a sunroof, a wireless charger, six airbags and even ADAS!
The Hyundai Venue has been a popular subcompact SUV in India as it offers a plethora of powertrain options. Like the Sonet, it also gets a choice of two petrol and one diesel engine but it only gets three gearbox options. Like its Kia cousin, the Venue gets two 10-25-inch screens, a sunroof, a wireless charger, six airbags, ADAS and more.
