In CY24, Hyundai India sold more than 6.05 lakh units in the domestic market which was a growth of 0.6 per cent compared to CY23. It exported nearly 1.59 lakh units in CY24, but compared to its exports in CY23 (almost 1.64 lakh units), Hyundai saw a decline of 3 per cent. CNG comprised 13.1 per cent of the domestic sales in CY24 and SUVs contributed 67.6 per cent.
In December 2024, Hyundai India sold more than 42,000 units in the domestic market, witnessing a decline in sales of 1.3 per cent compared to the same period last year. Its exports during the month (12,870 units) were down by 6.1 per cent compared to December 2023 (13,700 units).
Hyundai India also mentioned that the Creta achieved its highest-ever yearly sales, with nearly 1.87 lakh units sold in CY24 alone. Furthermore, this is set to increase this year as Hyundai is preparing to launch the electric version of the Creta, called the Creta Electric.
Tarun Garg, Chief Operating Officer, Hyundai India, “HMIL has managed to sustain sales momentum in 2024, despite strong headwinds faced by the industry at large. Achieving the highest ever domestic sales three years in a row, reflects customers’ preference for brand Hyundai as their trusted smart mobility solutions provider. Introduction of the innovative Hy-CNG Duo technology in 2024 resonated well with buyers, translating to the highest ever CNG contribution of 13.1 per cent to HMIL’s domestic sales in CY24, against 10.4 per cent in CY23.”
