Commuter motorcycles flood this list with a healthy balance of 100 cc and 125 cc bikes.
Hero’s Splendor has been the highest selling motorcycle for eons and the same holds true for the month of July 2024. Here are the top 5 selling motorcycles in the same month, and no surprises, it is dominated by commuter motorcycles:
Bike | July 2024 | July 2023 |
---|---|---|
Hero Splendor | 2,10,286 | 2,00,866 |
Honda Shine 125 | 140,590 | 84,246 |
Bajaj Pulsar 125 | 55,711 | 50,723 |
Honda HF Deluxe | 46,627 | 65,931 |
TVS Apache (except 310) | 30,681 | 22,435 |
The Hero Splendor, is far ahead by a significant margin of 69,696 units. Year-on-year, there has been an increase in overall sales as well. However, what remains to be seen is whether or not the Bajaj Freedom 125 CNG bike can offer a similarly stiff competition in the sales charts with its strong fuel saving promises.

Surprisingly, the Honda Shine 125 secures the 2nd position over its 100cc variant. Another offering from the 125cc segment is the Bajaj Pulsar 125, which appears to include units from both the Bajaj Pulsar 125 and the Bajaj Pulsar NS125. This takes the 3rd spot on the list. We might soon see another addition to Bajaj's 125cc lineup, as spy shots have emerged of a bike undergoing test runs. The difference between the Bajaj Pulsar 125 and the Honda Shine 125 is a massive 84,879 units. The improved performance of these two motorcycles shows Indians really started to splurge a bit more and opt for something that has more to offer.

The SIAM data doesn’t really split the sales figures of all of the TVS Apache motorcycles (barring the 310s), making it hard to decipher each model’s performance. However, the recent colour editions do spruce up the more popular models like the recently introduced Black Edition.
