Tata Motors has reported a 6 per cent year-on-year (YoY) decline in passenger vehicle sales with 44,954 units sold in July 2024. However, the company witnessed a month-on-month (MoM) growth of 3 per cent.

In the domestic market, Tata Motors sold 44,725 units which is also a YoY decline of 6 per cent. In contrast, the Indian carmaker’s exports grew by a staggering 275 per cent as it exported 229 units last month, compared to 61 units.
Tata Motors’ commercial vehicle business has also witnessed a YoY growth in July. It sold 25,436 units in the domestic market, which saw a downtick of 19 per cent compared to July 2023. The exports of commercial vehicles also saw a decline of 7 per cent with just 1,606 units sent abroad. Combined, the commercial vehicle business decreased by 18 per cent compared to July 2023, with sales of 27,042 units sold. Unlike the passenger vehicle business, the commercial vehicle business saw a MoM decline of 15 per cent.

The combined sales of passenger vehicles and commercial vehicles accounted for 70,161 units, an 11 per cent decrease compared to the same period last year. The overall sales (domestic + exports) tallied 71,996 units, a YoY decline of nearly 11 per cent.
