TVS’ export business grew by 27 percent and its domestic sales grew by 7 percent.
TVS Motor Company announced that its year-on-year sales grew by 12 percent last month. It sold a total of 3,69,914 units, compared to 3,30,609 units it retailed in May 2023.
Out of the 3,69,914 units, the Hosur-based two-wheeler maker retailed 3,59,590 motorcycles. Out of which, 2,71,140 units were retailed in the domestic market and the rest were exported. This translates to 7 percent sales growth in the domestic market.
For its motorcycles, which include the likes of the TVS Apaches, Raider 125, etc, the brand retailed 1,73,627 units last month in India, compared to 1,62,248 units last year in the same month. This again translates to 7 percent sales growth of its motorcycles in the two-wheeler market.
On the other hand, Its scooter sales increased by 20 percent in India, with sales increasing from 1,21,156 units in May 2023 to 1,45,305 units last month. Out of which, its EV scooter, the TVS iQube comprised 4 percent of the sales at 18,674 units compared to 17,953 units in May 2023.

But most importantly, after commencing its business in the Philippines and Italy in recent months, TVS’ export sales increased significantly by 27 percent. Wherein the marque retailed a total of 96,966 units in May 2024 compared to 76,607 units in May 2023 to
TVS recently launched the “Blaze of Black” edition of its RTR 160 4V and the RTR 200 4V. This should further its sales in the market, especially in Maharashtra and Karnataka, where the brand has registered the most sales of its Apache motorcycles.
