The news was confirmed by the company’s top boss: Rajiv Bajaj
India’s top motorcycle manufacturer Bajaj Auto is all set to launch the world’s first CNG bike by Diwali or late-2024. The news was confirmed by Rajiv Bajaj as this motorcycle has been in the pipeline for quite some time now. We had already gained access to the patent images of the same and spotted the prototype as well.
Slated to be called the Bruzer 125, this 125 cc commuter motorcycle will cater majorly to the semi-urban and rural markets, and in the process, it is also expected to offer buyers a cost-effective solution. So, we expect it to be priced between ₹80,000-₹85,000.
Now, we already know that CNG-powered vehicles, like cars and wagons, produce slightly less power than their ICE counterparts. However, the fuel efficiency on offer will be on another level. Hence, the upcoming Bajaj Bruzer 125 might not be the most exciting motorcycle in the market in terms of performance, but it might just set a new standard in terms of mileage.
One of the biggest challenges of a CNG-powered motorcycle would be packaging the cylinder tank. However, Bajaj seems to have solved this issue by placing the tank along the length of the motorcycle, within the confines of the double cradle frame. Patent images (as you can see above) reveal that there is no such petrol tank, so unlike cars there won’t be any dual fuel solution available with the bike. The area where the petrol tank is placed will be utilised for stuff like air filters, battery, and other miscellaneous bits. However, there might be a limp home reserve that will store some fuel onboard so that you can ride the motorcycle to the nearest CNG filling station.
Given that the Bruzer 125 will be a commuter motorcycle it will have simpler foundations. So, telescopic fork and twin-shocks, and front disc brake option with CBS will potentially be present.
We expect Bajaj Auto Pvt. Ltd, to make an announcement confirming the launch of the Bruzer 125 bike soon. Along the sidelines, Rajiv Bajaj also confirmed the launch of the biggest Pulsar in the coming months. Head here to read more about the Pulsar NS400.
