India's automotive industry is gearing up for another major showcase as the Ministry of Commerce has confirmed that the Bharat Mobility Global Expo will take place from February 4-9, 2027, in Delhi's National Capital Region. The announcement, reported by news agency PTI, marks the third consecutive year for the event, which was formerly known as the Auto Expo.
The 2027 edition promises significant expansion beyond traditional automotive displays. For the first time, the expo will dedicate substantial space to multimodal mobility solutions, encompassing transportation across roads, railways, aviation, and waterways. This broader scope reflects India's growing emphasis on integrated transportation networks.
Organisers have planned special exhibition areas targeting both urban and rural mobility needs.
A novel addition to the 2027 lineup will be a dedicated agricultural mobility section, featuring tractors and farm equipment solutions -- addressing India's substantial agricultural sector for the first time.
The transformation from Auto Expo to Bharat Mobility Global Expo has proven successful, with each edition surpassing its predecessor in scale and participation. The inaugural 2024 event established the foundation for what has become a premier platform connecting automotive manufacturers, logistics companies, policymakers, and technology innovators.
The 2025 edition demonstrated the expo's rapid growth trajectory, using three major venues across the NCR: Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, Yashobhoomi, and the India Expo Centre & Mart in Greater Noida. This multi-venue approach accommodated over 1,500 exhibitors while attracting nearly one million visitors - specifically 9.8 lakh attendees.
Recent editions have witnessed significant electric vehicle launches and debuts from major manufacturers. The 2025 event served as a launching pad for numerous EV models, highlighting India's transition toward sustainable mobility.
Maruti Suzuki made headlines with the debut of its inaugural electric SUV, the e-Vitara, marking a pivotal moment for India's largest automaker. Hyundai captured attention with the launch of the Creta EV, bringing electric options to one of India's most popular SUV segments.
International expansion was evident through VinFast's market entry, as the Vietnamese manufacturer introduced the VF 7 and VF 6 electric SUVs to Indian consumers. Domestic leader Tata Motors showcased future electric mobility with concept vehicles including the Harrier EV and Sierra EV.
The two-wheeler segment also experienced significant activity, with established manufacturers Hero MotoCorp, Suzuki, TVS, and Honda presenting new models to meet evolving consumer demands.
The expo's success comes from its ability to unite diverse stakeholders across the mobility ecosystem. The event serves as a crucial networking platform where traditional automotive manufacturers connect with emerging technology companies, government policymakers engage with industry leaders, and logistics providers explore new partnership opportunities.
This convergence has positioned the Bharat Mobility Global Expo as more than just a trade show -- it has evolved into a strategic forum for shaping India's transportation future.
The 2027 edition's expanded scope reflects the industry's recognition of interconnected mobility solutions across multiple transport modes.
