The BMW CE 02 is manufactured in India by TVS at its Hosur facility and exported worldwide.
At the launch of the most expensive electric scooter in India, the BMW CE 04, we had exclusively affirmed that BMW Motorrad India will launch another premium electric scooter soon. Now, the German manufacturer has shared a bunch of teaser images on its social media handle, confirming that it will launch the CE 02 soon, in September.
This launch was anticipated for over a year since TVS already makes the BMW CE 02 at its Hosur facility and exports it to global markets. The platform it is based on was co-developed by both companies, and TVS also carried forward the same with the TVS X.

As for the BMW CE 02, it's built for the urban environment, and being practical is one of its essential requirements. However, design-wise, the CE 02 looks futuristic, with a distinct rugged appeal. It is built around a double-loop steel frame suspended by an upside-down telescopic fork at the front and an adjustable shock absorber for the rear. It rides on 14-inch wheels at both ends, fitted with disc brakes. Consequently, dual-channel ABS will be available as standard.
The BMW CE 02 is available with a 2 kWh battery setup paired to a 11 kWelectric motor which is good enough to do 90 km of range, and reach a top speed of 95 kmph. Additionally, BMW also offers a single-battery variant, with which the scooter can do 45 km of range, and reach a top speed of 45 kmph.

As for its price, the BMW CE 02 will likely be available at a hefty price tag. We expect it will be somewhere around the range of ₹5 lakh to ₹5.50 lakh. In this price range, the BMW CE 02 will slot in as quite the novel offering; thereby, it will be devoid of any competition in the electric mobility segment.
