The F 450 GS is the first twin-cylinder BMW motorcycle to be manufactured in India

The BMW F 450 GS has to be among the biggest bike launches of 2026. The production version of the BMW ADV bike was showcased at the 2025 EICMA motorcycle show in Italy last year and ever since Indian bikers have been waiting for its debut. The German brand confirmed that the F 450 GS will go on sale on April 23 and bookings for the motorcycle have also started officially at BMW Motorrad dealerships across the country.

The biggest question in the minds of prospective customers is how much will the bike cost? In the UK, the BMW F 450 GS retails for £6,990 or ₹8.75 lakh, whereas the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 is priced at £7,050 or ₹8.83 lakh. The same motorcycle in India costs ₹3.55 lakh in India and if we had to use the same delta, the BMW F 450 GS should cost around ₹3.50 lakh (ex-showroom).

However, the Royal Enfield motorcycles are built by themselves whereas the BMW ADV is manufactured by TVS at its Hosur facility. Also, BMW Motorrad is positioned as a more premium brand. Our estimate is that the BMW F 450 GS could retail between ₹4.40-4.80 lakh (ex-showroom) in India. At this pricing, it will be the second most affordable BMW motorcycle in our market after the G 310 RR.

The BMW F 450 GS is the replacement for the G 310 GS in the company’s portfolio as an entry-level ADV offering. The bike is powered by an all-new 420cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine that delivers 48 bhp at 8,750 rpm and 43 Nm of torque at 6,750 rpm. It comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox, complete with a slipper clutch and a bi-directional quickshifter as standard.

The G 310 GS had a single-cylinder engine and the new twin-cylinder powerplant is expected to offer a more refined riding experience, while the extra horsepower should offer better performance. The BMW F 450 GS doesn’t have a direct rival, but similar motorcycles include the single-cylinder alternatives like the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 and the KTM 390 Adventure.
