The new BMW M2 CS has already set a benchmark on the Nürburgring Nordschleife, completing the 20.8 km circuit in 7 minutes 25.5 seconds.
BMW has launched the much-awaited M2 CS in India at a price tag of ₹ 1.66 crore (ex-showroom). Introduced as a fully-imported CBU model, the M2 CS will be available in limited quantities, although BMW hasn’t disclosed the exact number of units allocated for the Indian market. It is the second CS-badged model from BMW to be launched here, after the M4 CS.
Based on the second generation of the BMW M2, the new M2 CS carries over the same design as the former with some subtle tweaks and additional carbon fibre elements. BMW has made subtle revisions to the frameless kidney grille, which now features larger air intakes. The front fascia also incorporates a matte-black splitter. At the rear, the lightweight carbon fibre reinforced plastic (CFRP) boot lid integrates a distinctive ducktail spoiler.
The car rides on 19-inch front and 20-inch rear forged alloy wheels finished in Gold Bronze and comes standard with track tyres. The full-blow sports sedan comes in four colour options namely Brooklyn Grey, Velvet Blue, Black Sapphire, and Portimao Blue.

Inside, the cabin features lightweight M Carbon bucket seats upholstered in Merino leather. These seats offer heating, electric adjustment, and removable head restraints designed for track use.The M2 CS also comes with a flat-bottomed M steering wheel wrapped in Alcantara, complete with gearshift paddles and dedicated M buttons.
Carbon-fibre trim elements are spread across the interior, while illuminated “CS” logos appear on the centre console and door panels. Additional highlights include customisable ambient lighting, M seatbelts, and black entry skuff plates finished with red ‘M2 CS’ accents.

The highlight of the BMW M2 CS has to be how it performs. Powering the sports car is an upgraded 3.0-litre inline six-cylinder S58 engine equipped with M TwinPower Turbo technology. It produces 522 bhp and 650 Nm of peak torque, delivering 50 hp more than the standard M2. Performance figures are equally impressive, with the car sprinting from 0 to 100 kmph in just 3.8 seconds and reaching a top speed of 302 kmph.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through an 8-speed M Steptronic automatic transmission. Additionally, the CS version is around 30 kg lighter than the standard model, which further enhances its overall performance and agility. Not just the engine, but the hardware of this new M2 has also been upgraded. The M2 CS gets a recalibrated adaptive M suspension setup, stiffer engine mounts, and steering tuned for track use.
