Lexus India recently stopped taking orders for the LX 500d SUV but has now announced that it will soon open the order books for the full-size luxury SUV. Lexus’ flagship SUV’s last recorded price was ₹2.84 crore (ex-showroom, India) and the updated LX 500d could come with a slight price hike.
The LX 500d is available with a 3.3-litre twin-turbocharged V6 diesel engine churning out 304 bhp and 700 Nm, with a 10-speed automatic transmission sending power to all four wheels. The LX 500d measures 5100 mm in length with a wheelbase of 2850 mm, and has a width and height of 1990 mm and 1895 mm, respectively.
It comes with features like two infotainment touchscreens with a 12.3-inch unit on top and a 7-inch unit at the bottom. It also has an 8-inch virtual instrument cluster, four-zone climate control, wireless charger and more. The updated LX 500d will also come with ADAS (Lexus Safety System+) and connected car tech.
The LX 500d is based on the Toyota Land Cruiser 300 series and rivals the likes of the Mercedes-Maybach GLS, BMW XM and Range Rover. While Lexus has not yet announced the launch date of the updated LX 500d, it is expected to launch in the coming weeks.
