The company anticipates a significant rise in demand as deliveries of the eMax 7 begin and bookings pick up momentum.
BYD India has reported sales of 2,000 electric vehicles between January and September 2024, marking steady progress in the competitive EV market. The sales are split evenly between two of its models—the BYD Seal sedan and the Atto 3 electric SUV, with 1,000 units sold each during the nine months. With the launch of the eMax 7 MPV, the automaker expects its cumulative sales to reach 3,500 units by the end of December 2024. Deliveries of the eMax 7 are set to commence by the end of October.
BYD India’s sales performance for the first three quarters of 2024 reflects a positive market response to its EV offerings. The introduction of the eMax 7 MPV, the company’s latest electric model, is expected to boost sales further, particularly during the festive period, which includes Navratri and Diwali.
BYD India is optimistic about the upcoming months, with the festive season traditionally leading to an increase in automotive bookings and sales. The company anticipates a significant rise in demand as deliveries of the eMax 7 begin and bookings pick up momentum.
BYD India’s goal of reaching 3,500 cumulative sales by the end of 2024 is within reach, especially as the eMax 7 MPV is expected to drive new customer interest. The MPV’s launch and subsequent deliveries, starting in late October, will coincide with a traditionally high period of vehicle purchases in India.
