BYD India will increase electric vehicle prices by up to 2% from 1 July 2026 due to forex fluctuations.
BYD India has officially announced a price revision for its entire passenger electric vehicle lineup. The new pricing structure is scheduled to take effect from 1 July 2026.
According to the company, the primary driver behind this adjustment is the sustained fluctuation in foreign exchange rates. Customers can expect an upward revision ranging between 1% and 2%, with the exact increase varying based on the specific model and variant selected.
In a move to provide price certainty for prospective buyers, the carmaker confirmed that those who book their vehicles during May and June 2026 will be shielded from the hike. These customers will continue to benefit from current prices, provided they take delivery of their vehicles on or before 31 July 2026. Any bookings registered on or after 1 July will automatically attract the revised rates.

Rajeev Chauhan, Head of the Electric Passenger Vehicles Business at BYD India, emphasised that despite a challenging market, the brand remains committed to delivering premium, safe, and high-value mobility solutions. He further highlighted the robust demand for popular models like the Atto 3 and the Sealion 7, noting that the price of these premium offerings could see an increase of several thousand rupees depending on the variant. For instance, a vehicle currently priced at ₹45,00,000 may see an adjustment of up to ₹90,000.
