The company is reportedly in talks with a different distributor this time.
After a very dismissive innings in 2019, Chinese bike company, CF Moto, is reportedly planning to re-enter India this year. If things go accordingly, we might see the Hangzhou-based manufacturer make a comeback with multiple models that will be spearheaded by the 450MT. This 450 cc adventure bike has gained quite the recognition in European markets, for its robust off-road credentials. It is powered by a parallel-twin engine, gets a generous 200 mm suspension travel at both ends, rides on 21-/18-inch cross-spoke wheels, and yet the seat height hovers around 800 mm. But the biggest talking point about the 450MT in Europe is how affordable it's priced, which is on par with its single-cylinder competition from the likes of Royal Enfield and KTM.

CFMoto is reportedly in talks with a different distributor this time, who will look after sales and purchases in the country. The models will be sold here in CKD format. This should help the marque keep prices a bit competitive, but how affordable that will translate to remains to be seen. Earlier, CFMoto was distributed in the country by Hyderabad-based AMW Motorcycles. People were not aware of the brand much due to which sales never really took off. Coupled with stringent emission norms which would have required the bikes to be updated, CFMoto found pulling out of India to be a more sensible business decision. CFMoto had entered India with four bikes six years before with the 300NK, 650NK, 650MT, and 650GT.
In the future, besides the 450MT, CFMoto will also have several exciting new bikes for company. Like the new 675SR-R, which is powered by a brand new inline-three 675 cc engine completely built in-house by CFMoto. Alongside, the 800MT-X, a proper hardcore adventure tourer, and of course the 800NK naked sport – are what we expect might come to India. Previous four bikes which were sold in the country, might also make a comeback. So stay tuned to this space, for more information will follow.
