A new step-up variable EMI scheme potentially lowers the buyer’s burden for the first four years of ownership.

Just ahead of the festive buying season, Citroën India has announced the launch of multiple new variants of its AircrossX and BasaltX SUVs. The AirCrossX is now available in You Turbo Comfort Edition and Max NA (Petrol and CNG), while the BasaltX also now comes in You Turbo and Max NA (Petrol and CNG) variants.

The e-C3X also now boasts of slightly improved range without any change to its battery capacity. Moreover, the company has introduced new financing options to tempt buyers, even as competitors launch multiple new models and refreshes. The new variants are officially available at authorised dealerships already.

Starting prices for the new variants are as follows (ex-showroom, introductory):

  • AircrossX You Turbo Comfort Edition: ₹10.69 lakh
  • AircrossX Max NA: ₹11.62 lakh
  • BasaltX You Turbo: ₹9.99 lakh
  • BasaltX Max NA: ₹11.34 lakh
  • ë-C3X Extended: ₹6.99 lakh with BaaS; Battery EMI: ₹2.26/km

In terms of financing, Citroën India has announced a new step-up variable EMI scheme with a maximum loan tenure of seven years, which it says lowers the buyer’s burden for the first four years of ownership. EMIs now start at ₹9,999 for the BasaltX and ₹10,555 for the AircrossX in the first year of each loan tenure, increasing thereafter. Eligibility for this scheme is subject to qualifications and approval by Citroën’s banking partners.

The You Turbo variants of each model offer higher performance, and the company says comfort is improved for city as well as highway driving. Both SUVs also come in new Max variants with naturally aspirated engines, for a comfortable and easy ride.

The updated Citroën e-C3X Extended is now rated for 330 km of range per charge (MIDC-I/II certified), thanks to efficiency improvements rather than any hardware or battery capacity upgrade. While this aims to address concerns about range, BaaS lowers the barriers to electric mobility adoption.
