It is a modification that transforms the Honda CRF250L into a head-turning machine.
A uniquely designed street motard concept stole the show at the recent Tokyo Motorcycle Show. Now, we're excited to delve into the details of the Honda CRF250L Street Motorrad, a customised demo bike brimming with parts from Dirt Freak.
Dirt Freak's Street Motard concept prioritises both aesthetics and performance. The in-house DF-Craft workshop elevates the bike's supermoto look with a tough gunmetal coating. Weight reduction is a key focus, achieved through the use of lightweight titanium bolts throughout. Rider comfort and control are also addressed with features like adjustable footpegs. Dirt Freak offers a wide range of bolt-on aftermarket parts for the Honda CRF250L, allowing for easy customisation according to rider preference. Additional parts, like fog lights, smaller indicators, and exhaust pipes, are in development, promising to further enhance functionality and style. The sleek design of the new Line Tail Light, currently under development, has already generated significant interest. Street-legal lighting and a licence plate holder make it ready for the road.
The Honda CRF250L packs a punch in a compact, single-cylinder, four-stroke engine. Its 249cc displacement delivers a balance of power, ideal for both on and off-road riding. With a DOHC (Double Overhead Camshaft) design and liquid cooling, it maintains smooth performance. The engine cranks out a maximum power of around 23 bhp and 22 Nm. While Dirt Freak has kept the original engine and frame for this build, there might be some tinkering with the performance that the engine puts out.
The lightweight CRF250L chassis is the heart of this build, known for its nimble handling. New handlebars and controls enhance ergonomics for a comfortable and controlled ride. The Honda CRF250L features a telescopic inverted fork and a Pro-Link single shock in the rear. It also gets adventure footpegs by Zeta Racing. These have spikes for offroad use and rubber inserts for street riding.
Dirt Freak doesn't just focus on looks. Upgraded brakes ensure confident stopping power to match the performance. Dirt Freak sheds the knobby dirt tyres for grippy street rubber on 17-inch spoked wheels. This should completely change the riding experience. Wider 150mm rear tyres enhance the aggressive look. Dirt Freak incorporates a range of aftermarket parts for further personalisation and performance gains. Brands like Zeta Racing, Z-Wheel, Delta, XAM, and DRC offer a variety of options to tailor the bike to your preferences.
Overall, Dirt Freak's CRF250L Street Motard is a well-rounded supermoto that combines excellent performance with striking visuals and extensive customization options. While details on engine upgrades and suspension modifications are missing, the available information paints a picture of a thrilling street machine built on a strong foundation.
