Ducati India has launched the new Panigale V4 R, priced at Rs 84.99 lakh (ex-showroom), making it one of the most expensive bikes in India. The new Ducati Panigale V4 R is the road-legal version of the manufacturer’s World Superbike (WSBK) race machine. Notably, the Ducati Panigale V4 was crowned the ‘2026 Premium Performance Motorcycle’ at the Acko Drive Awards 2026.
The Ducati Panigale V4 R draws power from the 998 cc Desmosedici Stradale R engine tuned for 216 bhp at 15,500 rpm and 114.5 Nm is delivered at 12,000 rpm. Power can be boosted to 232.6 bhp with a race exhaust. Ducati says the motor can further produce up to 236.6 bhp by using ‘Ducati Corse Performance’ oil. The engine uses new and lighter pistons and a crankshaft with increased inertia, benefitting from Ducati’s MotoGP development. The track influence extends with the racing gearbox, which places neutral below the first gear to remove the risk of hitting neutral under hard braking and corner entry. The superbike has a wet weight of 186.5 kg (without fuel), making for a delectable power-to-weight ratio, allowing the Panigale V4 R to attain a top speed of 330 kmph, a feat previously reserved for MotoGP bikes.

Commenting on the launch, Mr. Bipul Chandra, Managing Director, Ducati India, said, “We are immensely proud to introduce the Panigale V4 R to the Indian market. This motorcycle is a true testament to Ducati's racing soul and sporting DNA, bringing technology and performance from MotoGP and WorldSBK directly to the streets. The Desmosedici Stradale R engine, the advanced aerodynamics, and the racing-derived electronics are engineered for one purpose: to offer unparalleled performance on the track. For the discerning Indian enthusiast who demands the absolute best, the Panigale V4 R is not just a motorcycle; it's an experience of what it feels like to ride a true racing machine.”
The Ducati Panigale V4 R comes with Corner Sidepods benefits creating a “ground effect” at high lean angles to raise tyre grip and support higher corner speeds. The bike also gets larger winglets, which deliver 25 per cent of additional downforce at 270 kmph over the previous model. The bike maker has comprehensively updated the electronics package on the V4 R bringing the ‘Ducati Vehicle Observer’ approach, along with Race Brake Control. Both are designed to let riders use more of the rear brake on corner entry. All the tech can be accessed via the 6.9-inch TFT screen with a Grip Meter view that shows estimated available grip. Further close to its racing genetics are the numbered series on the Panigale V4 R, wherein the model name and serial number are displayed on the steering plate.

Ducati delivered the first example of the Panigale V4 in the country to a customer in Chennai on January 1, 2026. Bookings for the superbike are now open across the brand's dealerships.
