Maruti Suzuki has launched the commercial-only Wagon R Bioflex in India, which is ₹86,000 costlier than the standard ZXi+ MT version.
Maruti Suzuki has officially launched the Wagon R Bioflex in India at an ex-showroom price of ₹7.24 lakh. Based on the top-specification ZXi+ 1.2 MT variant of the standard hatchback, this production-spec flex-fuel version was initially unmasked at the beginning of June 2026. This derivative commands a premium of ₹86,000 over its standard petrol counterpart, which retails at ₹6.38 lakh (ex-showroom).
Currently, the manufacturer is restricting availability of the Bioflex variant exclusively to the commercial vehicle sector. Compared to the fleet-oriented Wagon R Tour H3, which ranges from ₹4.99 lakh to ₹5.89 lakh, the new flex-fuel variant is quite a bit more expensive.
Under the bonnet, the Wagon R Bioflex is equipped with Maruti Suzuki's proven 1.2-litre, four-cylinder naturally aspirated K12N petrol engine, mated to a five-speed manual transmission.
To withstand and safely accommodate the higher corrosive properties of heavy ethanol blends, the brand has incorporated extensive mechanical revisions. These upgrades include high-durability fuel injectors, reinforced fuel pumps, robust fuel lines, a recalibrated Engine Control Unit (ECU), and an integrated ethanol sensor. These targeted enhancements allow the hatchback to run efficiently on fuel mixtures containing up to 85% ethanol (E85).

The exact technical performance outputs and localised fuel-efficiency certifications for the Bioflex variant remain unrevealed for now. Potential buyers should note that real-world fuel economy typically drops with higher biofuel concentrations.
In terms of aesthetics, the Wagon R Bioflex retains the familiar interior and exterior styling profiles of the standard tall-boy hatchback without any radical body sheet metal alterations. The only distinct exterior identifiers are localised 'Flex Fuel' graphics applied along the side profile and a prominent 'Bioflex' logo badge affixed to the rear tailgate.
The cabin environment remains unchanged, continuing to sport the familiar black-and-beige dual-tone colour scheme, fabric upholstery, and a three-spoke steering wheel featuring integrated steering-mounted media controls.
